Persimmon Cookies

One year ago today I lost my grandmother, she loved to cook and bake. So I thought it appropriate to share one of her greatest recipes! My grandma was famous for her Persimmon cookies, when she made them you were lucky if you even got any! They are sooooo amazing! So today I will share with you her persimmon cookie recipe. Persimmon cookies 2 Cups Sugar 1 Cup Shortening 2 Eggs 2 Cup Persimmon Pulp Mix thoroughly (Just know many mixers have been broken with this recipe) 4 Cup Flour 1 Teaspoon Cloves 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon Salt 2 Teaspoons Baking Soda Shift and combine with above mixture. 2 Teaspoon Vanilla 2 Cups Chopped Nuts (optional) 2 Cups Chocolate Chips (optional) 2 Cups Raisins (optional) Drop by teaspoon about 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes. ENJOY!
